Punisher War Zone

Short was the Senior VFX Supervisor. He was also responsible for overseeing the design and supervision of make-up effects. VFX by Pixelmagic. Make-up effects built by Maestro Studios, Montreal.

Along with his other duties on the film Short created the design of the Punisher logo to be used in the publicity campaign as well as the film itself.

Robert Short's RSP inc. was responsible for the Make-up effects on Beetlejuice. This included make-up appliances, animatronic / puppeteered creatures as well as Beetlejuice's carousel hat, mallet arms and many other special props.

Cocoon

Robert Short Productions inc. created the Cocoon pods and animatronic dolphins used throughout the film. Short also modified and puppeteered the alien found dying inside the main electronic Cocoon.  

Splash

Short designed, constructed and supervised the mermaid tail for Daryl Hannah. He was also responsible for the design of her underwater make-up. In addition to this Short designed the mermaid tub transformation sequence with VFX supervisor Mitch Suskin.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Robert Short Prods inc. was responsible for the creation of the full scale Great White Shark for this sequence.

PHASE ONE

Robert Short Productions was brought in by consultant Mitch Suskin to work with director John McTiernan to redevelop and redesign the concept for main creature. The first attempt was to cover the existing suit with an armored space suit to make it more fearsome.

PHASE TWO

The original design was then scrapped and a more animalistic approach was developed. The side mounted mouth was inspired by an unused design from Robert Short Prods. inc. for the proposed Roger Corman film 'Goblins"

The director then brought in a line drawing of a real Masai Warrior created by artist George Jensen and development shifted to create an African Alien Warrior under the direction of Mitch Suskin and Robert Short.
